KB install Day 2 (with pics)

Going to try to post pics as best as I can. But here goes.

Today we got started and set the blower in place. As I was getting the coils back on one of the 7mm bolts snapped off in the KB intake... That set us back a good hour or 2 getting the left over bolt pulled, finding a new one and making sure the threads weren't hurt in the manifold. Everything went peachy.

Next problem was the fact that I had piggy back style U/D pulleys. Getting the stock damper off the U/D pulley wasn't hard, but I didn't have a stock crank bolt. That took us to the hardware store then to an auto parts store till we found one. Plus we stopped for lunch.

With that back on track, I didn't have the stock water pump or Alt pulleys. They cleared everything so I decided to use the U/D ones. Its going to under drive the water pump and alt a little bit, not as much as the actual U/D pulley kit b/c I have the stock crank pulley on the motor to make sure I get the 9 psi boost out of the KB. The belt that KB gave us did not fit over those pulleys So we had to get a new belt that was 1.5" longer. Thats done and the belt is ran.

All thats left is the Alt wiring, intercoller and pump wiring, and the boost-a-pump wiring. Then I install the KB chip and fire it up

Time for pics

Right now it doesn't run, lol. But tomorrow it should be somewhere in the 400-420rwhp range. And I have about $9k in mods on top of what I paid for the car.

With same kit 9psi i put out 405. It is so awesome! with the 90mm mass air it puts you over 10 psi at higher rpm so be careful.

I think its our gears that lower our HP from what KB says it is. Am I right? I unstood gears lower HP but multiply torque.

Looks great Doc!! Might want to try to get a hold of KB to see if those other 2 pulleys are going to make any difference. I just don't want anything messed up. Congrats on the KB cant wait to see it in person.

I would try and find a stock waterpump and alt pulley...

I luckily saved mine (im a pack rat)...And when I put the vortech on mine I swapped them out...It could mess your car up bro...It would be worth going by a junk yard and getting a set of stockers or finding someone with stockers and trading the UDP to them for the stockers...

Nice install though...

Who is tuning it?
