Ok guys need help w/ rear end build


Well threw out rear end last night so i guess im gonna go ahead and build one ...... what i was going to ask is i've seen people weld the axle tubes and put braces on them is that really needed and if so how do you weld something like that and keep it from warping under the heat ?

no need for street use really...just swap out the ring and pinion or go as far as to install a whole carrier. Remember to keep the internals clean...rince out the whole housing to get all the debri out...i used amsoil gear lube in mine....! oh yea torque the pinion nut!!! and learn how to check lash between the pinion and ring!!! you dont want that dreaded hum!!!

Go with an Eaton third menber Ford racing gears and Strange 31 spline legs it is a bullet proof combo up to 900 HP

what war party said. get your torque boxes welded and if you race a lot, look into getting your ax;e tubes welded. im having mine welded in about a week

A rear end girdle would keep help keep the bearing caps in place

It also make it easier to change rear lube, just drill a hole through the back of the spare tire comparment, you can than just run a tube into the fill whole and fill it. It makes the operation so much easier, and so much less messy...

well youll neeed an experieced welder to do it. it is possible to warp them and you def dont want that.
