how to get a faster 60 foot time

i got my g-tech all dialed in today in my mustang. i was just screwing around and decided to try launching it a few times, yanno just to see what kind of 60 foot time i could get out of it. i was out on a low traffic road and i attempted it a few times. i tried it without burning out first and got a 2.75 lol, couldnt keep tires from spinning through first at all. then i stopped immediately and did it again (tires a little warmer) and got a 2.3 60ft. then i drove a little more and tried again and my tires must have cooled down again cause i got a 2.5.
i dont know what i should be expecting to run the 60 ft with bald street tires. my car has no performance mods, to it. the only thing that might affect mine over a stock gt is the eibach pro kit.

so what are some techniques/ tricks to get a faster launch and what is a good time for my situation? (01 gt 5 speed)

oh by the way i forgot to mention, i did the 1/4 and according to my g-tech i ran a 14.45 @100.7 with a 2.6 60 ft. that was about 5 months ago right after i got my car. i know its a shitty time but i had a 300 lb friend in the car and i had only had the car for a week.

for a good 60 ft time, you need practice, good tires and suspension

If you are running street tires the final run was slower not because the tires cooled down, but probably because they were too hot. Street tires aren't made to grip at high temeratures.

Yes takeing off the front sway bar helps with weight distribution. You could also look into getting some rear control arms, to get a little better traction.

your not going to get a good 60ft time using a piece of shit g-tech, take it to the track and practice on something that actually prepped surface. you can't teach someone how to launch on the street for a better 60ft. GO TO THE TRACK

well i could at least try a little before taking it to the track and making an ass of myself. like get the feel of a small amout of wheel spin and feathering the clutch a little bit? i'd like to be able to get it out of the hole fast the 60ft time itself isnt all that important, i just want to be able to get a good launch.

for suspension, i am going to go with the steeda sport springs, which are supposed to be pretty good, and lower your car up to 3 inches

Steeda Sport springs are only going to lower your car 3/4" - 1". I installed them on my car and pulled them off and sold them. Didn't give me the look I was wanting.

Start with some better tires and go to track for a more accurate 60' time. Lots of practice.

You need subframe connectors, upper and lower control arms and a good set of adjustable shocks.Get rid of the street tires and get some DR's if you want a dr thats gonna last get nitto's i put over 2k miles on the ones on my TA and about 25 passes. And just to let you know for every tenth you shave off your 60ft you'll shave 2 tenths off in the 1/4.And if your gonna practice just take it to a test'n'tune night at the track and just practice there. You can practice on the street but it will only help for the street as they will always differ on how they hook.

sweet thanks man, i will keep that in mind. last night i went behind a warehouse on a big open straight stretch and ran a 14.14 @101.7 with a 2.2 60ft. i dont know how accurate that damn G-tech is though. probably not too accurate. anyways i've been practicing launches and i've been getting better. when i take it to the track i can hopefully get a decent launch.
