Transmission problems

Since I don't know much about trannies don't flame me on this one... I am thinking it's the clutch cable.

I was driving back from lunch today and made an upshift to 3rd gear, I couldn't get into the gear, or any other gear at that time. After coasting for about a 1/4 mile, I tried getting into fourth, this time it went in and I cruised back to work. The reason I don't think it's the clutch is because it still pulls normal when in 4th, if it were the clutch I would think it would be "slipping". Plus I never smelled any clutch burning.

Any help on this is appreciated!

Is it possible your shifter is stuck? Look at your shifter under the boot and see if it is free moving! If you can get it in 4th but not thrid its probably not your cable! Check to see if your shifter is getting stuck, Also I dont know if this could be it but it could be a bent shift fork in your tranny!

I'm starting to think it's just the throw out bearing now. It was squeeking for nearly 10 months and I just kept adjusting it to make it shut up.

No, I don't think it's the shifter or anything as serious as forks, cause when the car's off I can move gears freely...
