auto tuning
this is continued from another thread, and I didn't wanna hijack it too much
. But with the things i've seen like shift points, line pressures, and lock up schedules, what's a good program to use to mess with all that? I have the delta force special forces tuner for my car, and it does allow you to change some things such as firmness levels, and also allows you to set at what rpm's the trans shifts when at wot, but i haven't messed with either of those yet as i dont want to do anything to jepordize the trans yet. what programs are out there to mess with things like converter lockup and further get into line pressures? also anyone got any links to places that can give me more info on them? I'm not sure how to mess with them yet, but would love to be able to learn for myself.

One option is SCT pro racer package. You get access to all the transmission variables and tables that you would ever want. Buy it through a good tuner and they should throw in their "auto trans" base file(s) with purchase. IMHO SCT PRP is the way to go if you want a fairly simple tuning software with plenty of tuner support for Fords.

If I was inclined to do all my own tuning (I'm not btw, just don't have time for it) I would also seriously consider the PRP.
Will (tbirdscwd) is very much into sniper stuff & does all his own tuning with it, if your gonna stick with them, he is who I'd be talking to about it, with out a doubt.

well i would rather take it to somewhere like livernois and have them tune it, but, would you be able to properly tune an auto on a dyno? from the sounds of it it's mostly messing with things here and there on the street/track not so much on the dyno.

i wish my sct tuner would allow me to choose my shift points, i hate that it's at close to redline when WOT for the 1-2 shift.

yes, an auto car (except for the diffrence in timing) needs to be sorted out in reallife, a dyno can't help you much (just ask Doug @ Brenspeed, I think I'm on like my gazillionth tune revision, LOL)

well I just emailed livernois to see if they sell the sct prp. I'm not set on staying with delta force tuning software, just got the tuner for really cheap so got that one. I just want something more complex that isn't TOO hard to learn myself.

For the PRP
Lasota VMP Trick Tuners Do some research there are others. Be sure to purchase PRP from a tuner that will help you if need be.
