NEX Main Line Kit?
This kit any good for shavin a couple tenths off? I only race 1/8mile once a month, so I have no need for a $650+ kit. Can the 4.6 handle a 75shot with no mods? (my first experience with Ford V8's, dont know their weaknesses or strengths)

oh yeah....75 is easy for em...i put a 150 on my 03 gt with gears, and exhaust....tires and clutch are the weakness with nitrous...as long as you stay at or below 400 hp at the motor youll be fine

i never ran 1/4 mile..only 1/8......if i would have had a set of 315 drags....i would have hit the 7.90 to 8.0 range...on stock 245 tires i hit a 8.30..spinning solid through 1st and 2nd and spinning hard in 3rd and even scratching 4th

i had 3.55's with a bunch of bolt ons and only got 12.50. i was spinning quiet a bit but not bad enough to shave a second. i would say 12.5-6 in the 1/4 and 7.8 in the 1/8.

I bought the kit, puttin it on next week. The only thing Im concerned about is having to cut the fuel line and using hose clamps on it. The line on the car looks a little bigger than the rubber hose in the kit, so Im wondering if the T-fitting is gonna fit tightly enough. But Im also known to just be paranoid...
If the car were to run a 14.0 stock what would a 75shot prolly put it at? I know a 100shot is usualy about one full second. |

mastershake, I would guess that the 75 shot will get you to low 13's. that is, if you keep traction. I wouldn't recommend launching on nitrous unless you have axle work.

The kit activates by a push button, so I will start spraying at the 60ft

well then maybe you're good to go. give it a shot. just make sure you don't put the top down at the track.... what they don't know can't hurt them.

My track always checks for saftey equipement, but I have heard that they sometimes dont care about somethings such as cages. A buddy of mine has a buddy that had a 04 Cobra convt that ran quicker than 13.99 and wasnt given crap until he broke the 11s!

if you cant get a 400rhp car into the 11s, you suck nuts at driving. my car has 300rwhp and has run 12.5@110 on street tires. i think itll go 12.2-3 with slicks
