Did you change the pcm to an auto pcm?
yeah I swapped everything myself out of the car. I installed my 5-speed in the guys car and I took his auto. We swapped everything.

The harness and everything should plug right in. You shouldn't have to mess with changing any wires. I just did the swap about 6 months ago.

There is a small jumper wire that need to be put in place of the clutch pedal position switch, but I'm sure you swapped that over cause you would have had to remove it from the auto car to put the 5-speed in. There is nothing weird about the swap. It is very straight forward. I am willing to bet money that your problem has to do with your shift solenoids not being bolted down.

well i just bolted everything down and got everything back together. Started it up, let it idle for about 5 min, and then drove it down the street. Still NOT shifting.....eeeeerrrrrrhhhhh...... Tomorrow is another day and I have checked all the connectors exept for the connector behind the engine. I couldn't just quickly get my hand back there to check but tomorrow I will check it. Its 9:30 here on the east coast so I am calling it for the night. If you all have any other suggestions please share.

I just put an 1/2 wrench extension on a jack, jack the jack up until the extension is pushing the unit off the c clip. Then slowly let the jack down.

Luckily the spring is like 20 bucks if its bad. Then just reverse the above to install it and thats it. Really simpler than it sounds.

Let me look for a diagram

I checked the sping when I had the spring out and I was actually able to push it up by hand. I took out the spring and it looked fine. Is it supposed to hard to get out. Remember the car has sat a while.

It depends on how many and what springs were in there. A lot of guys only run one spring in the 1-2 accumulator. In that case, there won't be any tension on it and will be very easy to get in and out. Even with the two stock springs in there, it should come off fairly easily. I just did mine by hand yesterday.

There was just 1 spring. well I am definately missing something. I am going to test the electric to the solenoids tomorrow also. Just realized that the O/D button is not working. I checked the fuse and it is hooked up and working. I don't know what else it could be other than the trans not getting juice down there.

OK......... NOW I'M SCREAMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT SHIFTS!!!!!!!!

I had a hunch on the tune that I put on the car to make it run and WALLAH!!!!!! The stupid piece of junk started shifting. Talk about making a person kick and scream! I thought I was going nutz.

Here is the low-down of the series of events that has lead to my insanity

I installed the automatic trans and all but I knew that the tune that was on the car wasn't going to work so before I did the swap I had returned the 5-speed computer back to the stock tune so I could reprogram the auto computer. Well I then took the the programmer to my tuner to have him transfer the engine parameters to the automatic computer in order for the car to run and drive because with the stock tune the car would not run. Well after all the runaround and trying to figure the stupid thing out I finally put on the old set of Mass-Air/injectors and returned the car to the stock tune. Well, well, well, what do you know......it shifted. So now I have to putt it down to my tuner and probably have to run over his toes!

Thanks guys for all your help! I repped all of you for great advise and patience.

Thanks Again!

I was thinking about doing something here soon. I still have to get my heads, intake and fuel system. Looks like my heads are going to take the longest. And then have it retuned. Maybe then I will make some real power.

OK guys.......................... EVERYTHING IS FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Transmission Range Sensor AKA "Safety Neutral Switch" was bad.

Now the only thing I need is an O/D switch. Mine is broken. but it's all working correctly now.

Thanks everyone for the help!
