gear mechanics
i just purchased a gear install kit from a local performance shop for my 4.10's i was wondering if it was universal can be used by any aftermarket gear? and what is the mechanics of a gear that cause the car to go faster with out adding hp over a stock 3.25?

yes the kit should be universal. i dont know the technical way to explain it but it makes it easier for the car to move kind of like when you are riding a bike and you shift into a different gear to go up a hill. it gets the car into its powerband quicker.

Re: gear mechanics
This is how it works, say your drive shaft makes one full rotation, if your car is stock the axles will rotate 3.27 times everytime the drive shaft makes one rotation. So when you get 3.73's,4.10's, etc it basically ups the gear ratio simply put. So your axles/tires will make 4.10 rotations for every one turn thus multiplying the distance traveled with the same amount of energy, and at the same time you gain speed faster...acceleration is better. Hope this helps.

all gears do is multipy torque! The more torque you have the quicker off of the line you can get!
