If you want wide tires, you need wide wheels.

Sure, a 275 fits, and if all you care about is going fast in a straight line (which there's nothing wrong with), you'll be fine. Any wider than that is asking for problems, and you're NOT getting *any* benefit from that wide of a tire over a properly inflated, properly sized, proper compound tire. Or, to really stir the pot and hit the emotions, you're just being a stupid ricer, because at that point you're doing it for looks at the cost of performance.

I've made several posts about tire size as a percentage of rim width, and what's better for what kind of driving. The short version is that the factory sized tires are on the wide end of what's acceptable, and just because it fits doesn't mean it works.

If it means anything to you, for me and my driving 275s are too wide for a 9 inch rim, much less an 8.
