11 inch wide wheels

Hi, I am new posting on modded mustangs, so don't get mad if this post has already been done and answered (I've looked and haven't seen it). I drive a 2001 Mustang Gt and I just ordered a set of wheels. The front wheels measure 18x9 and rear 19x11. I was 100% sure that the rear wouldn't be too wide, but a friend, who doesn't even have a mustang, made me think otherwise. I was just wondering if someone could tell me if they would fit or not in back.

I have a stock suspension, so my car sits pretty high. I've heard thy people roll fenders and what-not, but I am wondering if I am going to have to end up doing that (or wheel spacers or something). Help would be greatly appreciated. I ordered Avant Garde M310 wheels and I need help decided what size tires would fit on the wheel and car.

Thanks

I dont think so.
alot of people on here run 17x10.5 or 18x10 with no problems.
you MIGHT have rubbing with the quad shocks. maybe

others will chime in.

I read somewhere that some people (with 10.5 wide) don't have problems with the quad-shocks. It probably depends on the tire width. Hopefully being 11 inches wide the extra .5 inches on the wheel isn't a problem. I saw a cobra with 315's in back and he just used a little wheel spacer and maybe rolled the fenders. Also, by my knowledge, the cobra has a little less room in te rear wheel-well because of its independent rear suspension.

Nice wheel choice with the Avant Garde. With that particular wheel I think it will look really good sittin low. I found an old post on another forum and some guy is running 18x9 BFG 265/35 on front and 18X11 BFG 315/30 on back and he said he had to toll his fenders but I don't know how low it was. Another tire size was 275/35 and 335/30.

Hey 02GT89, what size wheel do you have, and what's the profile? 30 or something close to that?

I'm thinking that lowering the car an inch or more would indicate if the fenders have to be rolled or not.

I was planning on lowering the car by replacing the springs and shocks, but it seems like these wheels would make that difficult. I'm a do-it-yourself, and if there is a way and I dot have to cut out the wheel wells I may be into doing it.

What is the offset of the rim? If you have the correct offset for our cars then you should be fine, worst case scenario you have to roll the fender a bit. It matters more what size tire you run on there. I'd stick with a 315

I've seen 18x12.5s om 345s and they had to cut a hole in the wheel well into the trunk. Why 19s? That doesn't look good

To be honest, I don't not know the offset of the run. I was on one website and found that the wheels would fit the car and I bought it on another. It didn't say anything about a offset. The "CarID" website simply had me type in what kind of vehicle I had (submodel and all) and thy claim they are going to make the wheel custom... I figured it would fit and they would go with the oem offset or something... Looking back, I feel a little ignorant.

I got 19's in back, because I was afraid 18's would look too small. The 18's on American Muscle like these looked tiny.

Your opinion is that 19s don't look good. I get compliments on my 19s all the time and I think they look great.

Do you have the wheel handy? Just measure from the back lip to the back face of the hub and that will be your backspacing. They you can figure the offset from that to see how your wheel will fit.

buying 11" wheels without knowing the offset is pretty foolish. 95% of mustang guys dont run wheels bigger than 10.5". Your quad shocks gotta go, you will need aftermarket LCAs to be able to run with no quad shocks. Do you know anything about these wheels? weldcraft widens wheels for 125 a piece. Its not a simple process and needs to be done right. Most do know stagger wheel sizes either. 90% of the time its all 17s or all 18s so im looking forward to seeing this. I bought my car with 19s on it and it was hideous...

19s.

You can flip your quad shocks to give you a little room too if you need it.

It'll fit, you may have to run a spacer if the offset is a touch too far on the positive side. 19s look great on our cars, what size tire are you running?

Btw you can remove the quad shocks if you upgrade the rear lower control arms, which will give you a bit more clearance. One of my customers is currently running 18x12 CCWs on the back and they fit fine.

Those rims will actually measure 12" all wheels are 1" bigger than the actual size. Heres some fr500s widen to 12.5"

Here you can see the hole he had to cut into his trunk (big hole) To make them fit. They still rub.

Obviously your wheels are 1.5" less. But with his modifications he had to make just to fit them and still rub id imagine youll need to do something. What size tire are you going to run? 335?

I have the wheels ordered, they havent came yet. As for the tire size, I will go with anything that takes advantage of the wheel width and might fit the vehicle. I was planning on getting the wheel and test fit it on the car and see how much space I have (if any) around it. I will choose a tire size accordingly. If I have to make a small modification to the structure of the car that wont be a big problem if I know what to do. I love the wheels, so they are going to make their way on he car one way or another.
