t45 vs. t3650
I have a 01 bullitt GT.. Its got the 3650 in it.. I broke the input shaft off my tranny... I can get a t45 which I heard is all around better besides the shift forks and you can have better one put in the for not a lot and they be about bulletproof with the power I'm putting down.. (362rwhp) Help me pick which is better.

T45 is not bulletproof. The only manual transmission thats pretty strong for our cars is a T56.

Your tranny is gone. Spend the money and get you a T56. Upgrade while you can.

T-45 has shift forks made of cheese and the TR-3650 uses synchros built from cardboard. Pick your medicine lol, but the 3650 is a bit better in a lot of ways and can be purchased for a good price.

t45 can handle higher rpm's. they both hold around the same power so in my opinion the t45 is better.

i have a stock t-56 with a 26 spline input shaft, and tob sleave and that cost about 450 for that setup and its good to handle a lot of power, the weak spot in the cobra t56 is the 10 spline input shaft.

yeah, have you seen teh new 3650 that can hold either 750 or 1000+ hp? I will have to find it. saw it on tv from some auto show.
the t-45 is rated at 325ftlbsT-45: Shitty synchros shitty shift forks even shittier shifter selector arms shitty input shaft T-3650 shitty synchros shitty inputshaft So take your pic theres a reason ford switched to the 3650 over the t-45.

T45 FTW! they have less issues than 3650's and shift better (cold or hot) They also are not that hard to rebuild. Yes the shift forks are called "weak", but its a shifter not a prybar! shift good and you wont have to worry about bending them. For those who complain about synchros not lasting its probably because you were trying to force shifts to happen in the first place.
If you want to powershift or tear at the shifter, get yourself a sequential/dogbox transmission. |

T-45 + upgraded input shaft @ your power level should be fine. If you wanted to make it "bulletproof" you could add carbon fiber synchronizer rings, billet synchronizer keys, heat treated gears, and billet shift forks. I've got carbon fiber synchro's in my T-45 and it shifts great, way better gear engagement than stock.
T-56 is great no doubt, but if you can't get one that works for your budget, i'd go T-45 |

Theres a reason aftermarket companies make stronger shift forks, and shift selector arms. Bc the T-45 has shitty ones. Sure if your gonna build a 5 speed it would be nice to upgrade to billet shift forks and selector arms, but if your going to do that just buy a tko or t-56.
I agree with thre synchros, I believe they usually go bad bc of the driver. Sure they arent the strongest, but they will last a log time with decent driving.
