Gear installation

I'm about to order Ford Racing 3.73 gears for my gt but I want to know what all is a have to for the install. I really don't want to pay 325 for the kit but I don't want to half a** it either. My brother will be doing it but like I have stated, I just need to know what is absolutely needed along with the initial gears.

How many miles on the car? Mine had over 100,000 miles on it when I had gears put in so I went ahead and replaced all the bearings. If yours only has 30-40,000 miles I wouldn't bother.

Its good insurance to replace all the bearings. You can go on Summit and buy the Rateck install kit. Let me see if I can dig it up for you.

x2. You're already in there so you might as well do it all at once. Then you know everything has zero miles

I'd go ahead and replace the trak lok clutches as well but that might just be me. They're gonna wear on you sooner or later

Just the ring and pinion (gears) and install kit. Then the rest are just tools.

i wouldn't even worry about the bearings at that mileage. i mean if you have the extra cash then sure go for it but at that mileage they should be in good shape. i had mine installed at about 40k...now have 86k, still goin strong

At that point though, you might as well just throw a 31 spline setup in it. She has low miles, shell be fine.

Do it! When I had my gears installed, I went ahead and got the bearing kit too. I think 75$ from AM.
