Bbk cai
I've been workin gon my mustang already kinda pissed. I have never done welding before so I convinced myself to have someone else do it for me...they wouldn't let me purchase parts elsewehere and they do labor so I was already skeptical. Dispite the already bad signs I decided to go ahead and do it. I ended up paying over 700$ for CLAMMPED exaust. I am inffuriated. NEVER EVER EVER EVER go to Trick trucks and cars...they will rip you off. Even after I asked if they did welding and they assuered me they weld exaust I look under and it's clammped. Anyways I figured I would throw that in there. Now I am personally trying to install a BBK Cold Air Intake for 2001 Mustang GT. Has ANYONE done this before? I cannot get the filter on. They already sent me the wrong size hose extension. I fixed that w/ a clamp and eletric tape. now I am and spending time and blood trying to get this filter on. Can anyone help me.
Also, anyone know a shop in Maryland that could help me redo my exaust? Last edited by Jmcduffie; March 26th, 2011 at 06:39 PM. Reason: Add year |

...$700 for a clamped exhaust?
Was that just installing a catback or midpipe too? Was that just labor or parts too? I paid $135 to have my catback welded in from my x pipe with parts I supplied

That was just the catback...it was Flowmaster Amrerican thunder...I paid perty much 450$ for parts and 250$ for an hour of labor....then it was clamped. Do you know the secret to installing the filter?

not for a bbk cai man, the one I have was part of a packaged deal from american muscle that came with the sct3 and a cai that I can't remember who made it. Installation of mine was pretty straight forward though, i put the filter on the piping first, slid the bracket over the piping and into the fender and installed all the other piping up to the throttle body before tightening everything down, maybe this will help you out though

doesn't show how to install the filter from under the fender. It won't fit through the hole from the engine compartment with risking damaging the filter.

I can get the filter up in there the problem is getting it on properly. It doesnt seem to fit at all...it wants to be crooked as if there isnt enough room to physically straighten the filter out...HOw do I remove the black plastic thing? Bolts from insde it?
