Defeat, in the form of a ticket.

Alright guys. I finally got my first ticket. I was driving to DC, it was late... maybe, 3AM, and I was tired.

We all know how it is when driving the stang on an interstate, you don't look for speed signs, you know it;s 65, and you don't care... you just cruise.

Just so happened it was one of those 60 areas in Albemarle County, VA... and I was cruising at 77. Didn't realize it.

Didn't call in to see how much yet...

Ouch man. Sorry to hear it. I hate getting stopped when you don't realize your speeding

Happened to me just the other day, but I had luck on my side.

I got pulled over in Illinois once, going north from missouri. I was doing 83 in a 55 and there was no sign stating it dropped from Missouris 70 MPH to 55MPH when entering Ill. (i ust got into Ill), told the cop that and that I dont feel i was posing a danger to myself or any other drivers on the road. He told me i had a good point and let me go. BTW if your going North on I-55 from Mizzou into Ill watchout ive been pulled over 2 times there Pulaski county.

Could be worse man. I got arrested in Denver for a BS excessive show of speed charge. Impounded my girl and cost me $3k total to get it all over with.

Some F*&% nut cops making an example out of me cuz i revved my engine.

So feel good with a general tix. Cops sux and are corrupt.

Used to respect them but after 6.5 hours in the tank it was all out the window.

Pretty harsh fine for reving your engine, is that the whole story or is something missing? "Cops sux and are corrupt" and they say we profile!!!

I don't know how things go in Va., but in NYS I would just plead not guilty by mail and go to the court date. Because it is your first ticket let the judge know that and the circumstances under which you were speeding. You might get off with a warning or higher fine and no points.

I actually met a pretty cool cop today. I got pulled over in my parents driveway. I was taking my nephew to my parents house and I was sitting in the driveway when a cop pulled up behind me. At first he was being an ass telling me that I pulled some stunt a few blocks back and I wasn't going to get away with it. Then he tells me my exhaust was illegal because it's not the stock exhaust for the car. I told him my exhaust was completely legal and I never heard of any such law. He goes back to his car and I think he's writing me a ticket. He comes back with the law book and reads me the passage. Turns out he was actually wrong, because the book said you can have a different exhaust you just can't alter your car to make it louder than the stock exhaust was. When he came back he had a completely different attitude, he even apologized for being gruff earlier. Turns out he has a SC'ed '01 Cobra of his own. We talked about cars for about 20 minutes. Finally I asked him what exhaust he had on his car and he just laughed. I guess that mans his isn't legal either. LOL

Alright update, I just said screw it. Skin of my teeth, as mentioned above I was close to wreckless. Would of cost me too much to miss work and take a court day, I'm a restaurant manager so ... It wasn't an option.

Just mailed them a check.

Cost me 141 for 17 over. Well 5 per mile, plus a 56 dollar processing fee.

Not too bad...

Some cops. I need me a new radar detector, and yes they are illegal in VA, and yes there are radar detectors that can work around that.
