I have to sell it, how much do i ask.

Im coming to a crossroads in my life and need to sell my 03GT. Baby is on the way, im getting out of the Army in 4months baby is due in 3 months, ill be going to college when i get out (5months), i cant run myself ragged working full time and paying 2 car payments so i have to sell my GT. I have nearly $10,000 in upgrades recently put on. I put all them on since January and only drove the car 3000 miles since then so the parts arnt worn much. I have Dyno sheets from a certified dynojet operator stating i have 328RWHP after adding everything, i myself am a certified mechanic. The car has 40,000 miles on it, i owe 15k on it, but want a little extra. I dont want to be a dick or sit around waiting forever to sell it. I was thinking of asking $20k since the stock ones are going for 16's, and i got 10k into it. What do you guys think? am i asking way too much? I need to ask atleast 16 to pay it off.

no way your going to get 20k for it man.

ppl tend to shy away from modded cars.

i would return it to stock and acution off the parts if you want to net the most cash out of it.

You wont get 20K for it...

In all reality mods actually dont add anything to value of the car...Most of the time they will detract from the value...

I would say you would be lucky to get $16K out of it...

Im not trying to be a dick or anything but it is the truth...

My friend is selling his KB 2002 GT with everything with well over 20K in upgrades and he is having issues trying to get 18K out of it...

I guess it also depends on what part of the country...

But I am sorry to say that you wont get 5K over KBB...For around 20K you can have a 03/04 Cobra...

Truth be told the 03/04 Cobra's are what killed the modified GT market...

Hope it all works out for you...Im out of the Air Force in 35 days myself...

Re: I have to sell it, how much do i ask.

Well grats on getting out Chris, its a great feeling yet overwhelming at the same time im sure you know this tho. Well i guess ill just try to sell it locally, young Army guys dont know or care it seems like. Besides technically I wont really be ripping them off, if they have plans of doing all the mods anyways id probably be saving them money, seeing as im one of a handful of mustang guys around here that does his own work. The whole situation is depressing tho, im really gunna miss this car. I feel like im getting a divorce lol. Thanks for the input, ill be putting it up for sale this next weekend (locally only) and let you guys know how it works out if it does.

I think you will have some luck around the base... younger military guys don't usually know a whole lot about these things... you might be able to get your asking of 16.. Good luck man.

Yea, but at that they never go over the fact that adding after market accessories doesn't add allot of value if any (haha). And remember a car is only worth as much as someone else is wiling to pay. If someone doesn't want to spend the money on modding it, its a good deal. And that is how he needs to present the car to them..
