Found another problem today.
Was replacing a f-ed lifter, checking timing, putting it all back together when i needed to loosen the cam caps (whatever they are that holds the cams down) in order to get a rocker/follower in its seat. I loosened them in the correct torque sequence when i noticed two of the 5 caps (came with my patriot performance heads, where broken in two peices! they were still torqued down but cracked in two. Do you guys think this could have been the cause of my tapping sound? I thought i narrowed it down to the throttle body bolts backing themselves out and the throttle body tapping the plenum, but im starting to rethink my diagnosis. Im putting the stock cam caps err whatever, on instead of waiting on patriot to send me new ones...for now anyways thats what im doing, but unless this strange thing has happened to anyone else, guess i wont know for sure if im curing this tapping almost lifter knock sound until its all back together. I was almost there then ofcoarse, it F-ing RAINS! and it was really coming down so i had to stop progress. Anyways If anyone has come across this strange problem let me know.
