Discussing got any tricks on how to fix this? in the 99-04 Forum. when i screw my shifter knob in it will not center it self. its screwed ...

got any tricks on how to fix this?


when i screw my shifter knob in it will not center it self. its screwed in all the way in the pics. any tricks or tips on how to fix it? thanx

All you have to do is play with it! Try starting it at a different position! It normally takes me 3 times to get it correct!

try washers? If they won't stop if from the bottom or stick out too much, you can put a nut on it and run it all the way down, and see if that helps out.

If all else fails, get a nut that fits on the shifter threads, put the shifter where you want it, then use a wrench to tighten the nut against the shifter to keep it from moving.

Put some loctite on it and screw it to the desired position and let it set up over night.
