Yeah .. unfortunately experiences like that seem to be the only way people learn ...What's so funny about my one experience.. was it happened in my brothers 2003 automatic V6 .. haha .. I thought it was like a go cart you know .. I had my silverado wtih a built motor .. nitrous ... etc .. so I was flying doing about 80 through some s curves.. he had maybe had his car like a few weeks .. well anyway it just started to rain on a road that just had been resealed .. I think its a southern thing about resurfascing asphault anyway .. next thing I know .. I'm going into a curve the car doesn't turn and i'm so turning the wheel to the right haha .... it just slides straight into the grass so I'm like crap .. luckily i ran aground on some big ass rocks that just blew the front tire out and caught the undercarraige ... saved me from the trees.. anyway .. at that point at age 19 .. I knew any car was dangerous if driven careless .. but honestly .. now .. the only thing I'm worried about are other drivers... esp since my last wreck .. people just don't pay attention ... I mean I wasn't doing anything wrong and my car ended up in a shop for 2 months ... so do your part and drive safe .. it will help out the others who aren't !!!

This can't be stressed enough. It will or has happened to damn near all of us... Most of those who haven't actually wrecked have at least had close calls which were no one's fault but their own.

I'm 21 years old and have both ditched my car and had close calls, and I'm sure it will happen again one day.

Damn Steeda, sorry to hear that. I'm sure it will good as new in a Month. Yeah, everybody does/did stupid things in your car, but you can't turn back time, you can only learn from the experience. I'm not sure why but all my accidents never made me timid. I guess I've never truly had a really bad one. Why didn't you just deploy your steeda batarangs or the steeda emergeny chute? LOL

If I killed my 2001 GT (after all the money I spent on it) I plan on going with it.

Fugg the car, glad to hear you're OK! Between ages 16 to 20 I swapped ends three or four times gassing it in the rain but I was lucky and never hurt anything. So my parents never knew and I kept on believing I was ten feet tall and bullet-proof. It sounds like you've got a really, really cool dad.

What sucks about gassing it in the rain is that when you lose it you're GONE - you're just along for the ride. It sucks that you have to experience it to learn. You can relate your experience hoping others will learn but a handfull have to experience that feeling of utter helplessness to be a true believer.

Some hard-heads have to experience it multiple times. :wink In my defense, mine were low-speed adventures in trucks.

Hope your car comes out OK.

This is what happened when I ditched it. It was raining, mustangs are tail-happy, and once you lose control of one on a wet road, there's next to nothing you can do about it.
