Should I get the transmission fluid changed?
Long story short, the car has 120k miles on it's automatic and the fluid has never been changed.
I've heard from several places that it can do more harm than good to change the fluid if it's never been changed in that amount of time. I always thought this was a myth, but a few transmission shops have told me this. If I do get it changed, should I just get a change or a complete flush?

Yeah yeah, I know, not smart to go 120k miles without changing tranny fluid, but to be fair, a woman who knew nothing about cars owned the car for 100k miles before me. I'd like to prolong the life if possible though.

If ya get the flush, do it all. Get a "force flush" an have 'em throw some BG trans conditioner in it. And change the filter and seal...
You are correct about the more harm than good. The fluid thats in there acts kinda like a varnish and keeps things slippin' an slidin' like they need ta be. With that amount of mileage on it, things are kinda set in their ways and you can run the risk of upsetting the balance of nature, as it were lol...

So would it be worth it to get a force flush, or should I not worry about it?

If it ain't slippin' now, and it seems to shift when its suposed to, leave it alone.
One thing you might consider is adding the BG treatment. That stuff is amazing...

Doesn't seem to be slipping now, and my shifts still feel damn near perfect. I'll definitely look into the BG treatment, thanks for the tip! Edit: What BG product are you talking about? BG ATC Plus?
