got a question about cams

hey guys im new to the forum but i havea question. on overhead cam motors like the cobra and gt when you put in aftermarket cams does it make that crackle noise like when u listen to a camed lt1 or ls1 you hear the crackle or whatever the noise is from the big cam does a camed 4.6 sound the same or no? also what is a really good cam to run in a cobra or gt?

I'm not sure what crackle sound your talking about, but they will sound similar. They add a lopeing sound to the exhaust, and a good power increase. You'll definatly know that their there. As far as good ones Patriots iv'e heard are good, and VT stage 2 cams I heard are good.

cool yah thats what i meant by the crackle the noise of the cam lopeing or whatever what abou thead wise i heard afr is the best but there hella expensive! the reason im asking is im looking to get a mustang in october wheni turn 18 i will be able to get a loan and establish credit but i dont know what year to get. price wise i can afford a newer gt like 98 to 2002 but cobra wise probbably 98 or later. why the price diffrence is what i want to know. why is a newer gt the same price as a older cobra!

Because the Cobra is a 4v and the gt is only 2

Between a 96-98 Cobra and a 99-04 gt there really isnt that much more power! I would personally go with the cobra because I like the SN95s better!
