What are THE BEST cams available for a NA 4.6l 2v

Just wondering what you guys have done in the CAM area and what measurements work the best and have the most dramatic improvements. I was also told that when I get cams to also port the heads to match to get the most out of them. Any input would be great!

I hate when someone says THE BEST on such a vague topic. N/A as in no forced induction, possibly nitrous? What heads? How much compression? Stock short block? Built? Specs on built engine if so? What's your whole intake setup look like? What are you running for an exhaust? What are your power goals? What do you intend to do with the car?

That's just some of the basic shit. Otherwise, look into Hitech stage 2 cams if you have stock heads. A ton of people have had awesome results with them. There's an N/A 2 valve 4.6 that made it into the deep, deep 12s with them, bolt ons, gears, and some minor weight reduction. It was still for the most part a full weight street car.

Make sure you pair them with the best intake manifold, exhaust, and supercharger.

Hey guys......

What are THE BEST tires?

What are THE BEST weight reduction mods that'll allow me to retain AC, heat, and radio?

What are THE BEST heads?

What is THE BEST exhaust setup?

What is THE BEST turbo or supercharger kit?

What are THE BEST internals? 'Cause I be wantin' 9000 HP in my daily driver, and have a 100 dollar budget.

Unfortunately I see that stuff way too often. Even if it's watching some Youtube videos, do some research. As stupid as it sounds, Youtube videos made me decide to go with a Vortech over the On3 turbo kit, among a couple other things.

I liked the results I saw, love that raw, mechanical sound of a centrifugal at WOT. And it's my daily driver so IDGAF if it's not the most efficient setup that'll get me 9 million ponypower naaaaamean?

For a daily driver I love my Comp 262's. If it was exclusively for play I would have went with something bigger though.

2009 GT500, Vista Blue, SVT Premium Package, 2.5 VMP SC pulley, 90mm idler, Steeda CAI, 170' therm, Lethal O/R H-pipe, FR Short Throw Shifter, FRPP suspension kit, Swarr bar, VMP tuned, 550 rwhp, 556 rwtq.

If it's your dd and is going to be that way for a while I would highly recommend the 262's. They are a great all around cam and give really noticable road performance gains. Also they give the car a decent loping rumble with an exhaust setup. Not as big as with bigger cams but enough to make you smile when you hear it!

Also save some money and install them yourself. Get the cam chain retention tool from Anderson Motorsport so you don't have to crack the timing cover. Plus you don't have to worry about piston to valve clearance with the 262's. Grab a buddy to help you out and you should be done in about 6 hours. It really wasn't that hard.

Just to let you know Fast Fords magazine did a test on the Comp Cams. Their conclusion was that the 262's were a better cam for the street than the 270's. The reason was that with the 270's you lose power and torque down low where as you do not with the 262's. In fact you gain down low with the 262's. The 270's did gain a little bit more up top but it wasn't a lot that you would notice. Like maybe 10 to 12 hp if that.

There is no BEST cam, there's the best cam for what you want to do with the car.

That being said, I have a set of brand new HiTech Stage 2's For Sale if you decide that they would be the best for what you want to do.

They're brand new still in the plastic. I'm asking $500, but I may be persuaded to go a bit lower if someone will make the best of them.......... Make me an offer I can't refuse.... lol

I'll give you $300 AND let you install them. Sounds like a good deal, right?

Haha. Wish I had the time/money for cams right now, I'd definitely pick these up from you.
