I found this number in the front of the books 1-800-782-4356, it says to call if you want to order any year publication. It does not say the price though.

You can also get them straight from the dealership. Its going to cost a pretty penny to get a good manual, but it is well worth it if you want to take on allot of stuff yourself.
That is also how i learned allot of the basics was tearing down and building a engine in my shop class. Thats pretty much were i got the basics for everything i know about cars. If you want to do it yourself, id say go for it. You can always talk to other shops for input. Just make sure you take your time and reallize that your car is going to be out of comsision a bit long than if you had a shop do it for you.

you dont need or want an aluminum block - i guess it depends on your power goals, but assembling a motor is pretty easy - precision balancing and machine work isnt... take it to a pro for FI engines - you know for an na build yea do it yourself - its fun but a force fed motor is another story.
