What size of tire for a 17x10.5

I just bought a new set of rims for my car and the back ones are 17x10.5 and I found a set of 275/40-17 for the back. Will these fit on there or do i need to go bigger.

they should fit but you got plenty of rim, go BIGGER! some 315's would be sweet!

i think those will hold upwards of a 315, but someone else can verify that for me. I have 275/40 on mine and they are stock rims.

I run 275's in the front and 315's in the back I think I got mine for like 170 each for the 315's off the net, I think you can find a better deal now though.

Go with 315's at least. I am going to try some 325 drag radials next time I switch.

Nope should pop right in... I have heard that sometimes you have to flip the quad shock but I dunno if it is just my rims that make them sit better or what I didn't have to change anything

Oh yeah, and if you get a bigger tire and have a hand held tuner you should change your tire rev/mile on it to correct your speedometer or else it might be a little off.
