iv decided after reading the posts to get 4.10s i just think it will be better in my auto gt then other gear ratios. On Americanmuscle they have kits which come with a wee computer thing to adjust your mph gauge. Could a mechanic just install the gears and sort out the speedo themselves or would i be better off getting a kit? i was looking at the
Speed Cal and 4.10 Gears Kit what do you think?? Also with a good mechanic how much labour is normally required?

Your going to need either the speedcal or a tuner to fix your speedo man.
no way around it.

Labor is about 2-3 hours.

And the DR you plan on getting will have no affect on the install of the gears.

will the Mustang Speedcal which comes with the gear kit make my speedo accurate then?? What about if im changing the tires at the same time as the gears? Will this affect the speedo even with the electric calibrating thing?

Yes it will fix your speedo. that's the job of the speedcal

your tires won't make a difference unless you change the size of them dramatically

amazing thanks v much man , do you think a ford garage would do the install well? The really only other place is a ricer tuning shop so i dunno if i would trust them!!

Yes the do a good job most of the time but it will cost you.


look for a good speedshop around the area before you go to Ford.
