It depends on where your from if your at a state with any emission laws you will most likely not pass smog! For instance here in california the laws are so strict basically any freaking air intake system and you wont pass!

Don't have an opinion of long or short, what ever fits, but have used BBK ceramic coated headers on two vehicles one on a 383 and now my 5.0 and they have both held up great including the finish. Never a problem with bolts backing out either.

Shorties can get You about 15-20 Hp With supporting Mods
LT's Can Probbably get You closer to 30hp
