Oil under intake manifold??

I'm getting ready to install some mods, and upon looking a bit closer at the engine, I noted that there is a small pool of mostly dry oil sitting under the intake manifold on the top of the block. Is this common?

I've only owned the car since Dec, and I'm assuming it's been there since then, as most of the oil looks old. I'm thinking it could be when someone changed the oil, and was careless, or I could be something else. I'll try and get some pics today and post, but figured I'd see if anyone else has had this problem.

Thanks for any help.

yeah it is common actually. The 4.6/5.4/6.8 all have headgasket leaks. Weather it be on the back side of the head, or under the intake. And its most of the time oil, and sometimes coolant.
