6061 Elbow Installed!

Hey guys just got the 6061 elbow installed on the Edelbrock manifold and thought id share it with everyone.. If anyone has any questions about the install or performance gains let me know i can help ya out with whatever you need. Oh and 1 Question to anyone who has this on there car already... I installed it .. everything is running fine idling fine drives fine... but at idle i hear a very high pitch whistle. i cant tell if it is there while im driving due to the fact that the exhaust drowns out everything lol but at idle there is definitely a high pitch whistle. is it possible that the manifold is pulling in so much air that the air flowing past the throttle plate at idel is causing a whistle??? or could this be a normal intake whistle???

It looks like your running the stock tb still. Also the whistle is common since the material is real thin. Are you still na or do you have nitrous

How hard was it to get those fuel rails to hook up to your stock fuel plumbing? Also, Whats your hood clearence like on the stock hood?
What kit did you go with for your EGR delete?

The fuel rails were not to hard but the fittings are expensive!!! there are a million and 1 ways to route the fuel lines i just liked this set up personally.. but the main components you need for the fuel rails ( or at least what my set up needed) are a fuel adapter block with a ford fuel line female end and a aeroquip ford FPS adapter block. as far as the lines and T or elbows you need are all up to how you want it.( pics of the special items below) as far as hood clearance i had no problems with clearance. the throttle linkage hit the hood liner when the throttle was depressed but after a drive it dug it self a spot so that it did not hit anymore lol. and as for the EGR delete. There is a SUPER easy was to delete it without having to cap off or cut any vacuum lines. all you need is a 5/8 flare cap to cap the EGR port on the header. and you can disassemble all the vacuum lines and reconfigure them yourself so that you only have the vacuum line coming from the passenger side firewall to the throttle body(i replaced the stock red line with the green EGR line that you obviously don't need any more) and from the throttle body to the FPS. If you want more detailed EGR delete just PM me and i can walk you through it

yea honestly i thought it was a bad weld in the elbow because the leak wasn't there before... but i guess from reusing the old TB gasket it just wasn't good enough so i had to get a new one and no more whistle lol.

Cool that it was a simple thing and not something hard. How did you think of changing that gasket? Random or did you use a stethoscope?

hope you bought the edelbrock fuel rails. if not good luck lol and i hope you plan on spending a decent amount of money on fuel line fittings lol... but worst come to worst if that nitrous plate wont allow the set up to clear the hood the Edelbrock manifold already has a drilled and tapped hole right under the elbow mount for a nitrous set up( i just bought a plug and plugged mine).. but that's just something to think about. but you will see for yourself when it gets there lol... there are plenty of twists and turns to get that manifold to work properly with the stock set up. lol

haha i ran my hand over like everything in that area and the noise changed when i moved my hand closer to the top of the throttle body where it mounts to the elbow. because obviously the whistle noise would change if i was deflecting or blocking the air getting sucked through the leak lol
