The 2000GT is messing up now?

Alright my 2000 GT is out of nowhere, starting to 'misbehave' and I'm not sure what it means.

It's running fine, great, same as always. If anything it honestly feels a little peppier lately.

However, now when it runs for a second, it starts to make this noise that downright doesn't sound good to me, it just started doing it out of nowehere.

It's almost like a sputtering, however it doesnt effect my RPM's, it's just the sound. It's like a churning sputter, when I accelerate up to 2000 RPM's it makes it a little more spaced out, then dissapears until I come to a stop again or slow down.

Anyone have any ideas?

I thought exhaust leak too. Just not sure.

It's like a wet sounding sputter.

Update: not good?

Alright, no sound clip yet. However, when I was attempting to pinpoint the problem, I used my recording equipment to see EXACTLY where it was loudest aka the source.

Middle of the engine compartment, mid way down seems to be the source...

My car has no problems, all I can see is my coolant is super low, but it wasn't overheating.

I'm worried haha. Anyone know?

aTry adding collant and see if it goes down...If it goes down I think you might have some issues that are not goodtimes...

When you "mid way down" do you mean below the heads? Like by the exhaust manifolds?

Might be time for a leak down/compression test...

Oh god, not a friggen compression test. I'm going to look into when I get time on the weekend, get my hands dirty.

And yes, I mean around the heads. I was worried you'd say that.

I was going to drop a crate engine in her anyway.... I have some extra cash. But as soon as I get the other car, I'm giving this one to my sis I think. So I just might drop a new engine.

Rating on how long she'll survive like this? Assuming we're looking at manifolds?
