How much do you beat on your car???

I see 95% of the people that own Mustangs just dogging the hell out of them........at least that is the way it seems. I also see people with many problems with their cars.

I'm just wondering how most of you treat your cars. Do you go WOT every chance you get and if so what kind of problems do you have (if any). If you take it easy on your Stang, how many miles do you have on it?

The reason I ask is I havent owned a Ford since I was in high school and I graduated in 1991. Just wondering how dependable the new Mustangs are. I know it's all relative......if you pound on your car then you will have problems. I just put about 50 - 100 miles a day on my car(go WOT about 4 times a week). I just drive alot.

if you take care of it. and change the oil and all the fluids when they need to be changed. i think it will last alot longer than you expected and any care can have its probs Ford, chevy, honda , any of them can break down with out warning. and yea if you drive it hard it may cause some more problems but just take care of it and change all the fluids more often if you drive it hard

depends upon the mood that I am in. I don't drive like a granny, but then again I don't try to see how quickly i can get from stoplight to stoplight. I also drive a 98 GMC Sonoma pick up with a 4 banger in it for my work truck, so it's nice to have something with some power on the weekends.

I bang the hell outta mine. Haven't had any major problems yet, but my tranny is fading quickly. But then again, I put about a bottle of N2O through it every two weeks or so. 450 ft, lbs. is killing this 3650. I bitch about the tranny alot, but it didn't give me any trouble until I started spraying the motor.

Suprised my car still runs. I put 1500 miles on it in 27 hours the other week. I beat the piss out of it.

I wouldn't say i drive mine like i stole it, but i drive it kinda hard, and i haven't had any big problems. I did have an 86 IROC at one point and i drove the CRAP out of that thing and my bud i bought it from drove it the same way. We beat the hell out of that car, it was fun. All the suspension was pretty much trashed by the time i sold it.

I beat on mine a few times a day everyday. And have no problems other than general maintence. Im not gonna say not beating the shit out of it will make it last longer, Ive seen cars that dont get beat on tear up and ive seen some that get a beating all the time and last just as long. Its all in how anal you are about maintence. My car sees 5k on the tach a few times a day! Thats what I bought it for, pisses my wife off when i do that shit with her in the car.

I get on my car whenever I'm in the mood...which is usually everyday. But, I don't get on her for long periods of time. There's a nice 9/10 of a mile stretch of road near my house that is owned by a private company so it is never patrolled by anything other than the occasional rent-a-cop. Thats my place to go WOT when I'm in the mood. But bad to the subject. How long an engine lasts is all relative to maintaining your car and checking things out before the go horribly wrong. I'm not condoning nor condemming beating the hell out of your car. Just remember, it's a mustang, not a Honda Civic (for damn sure)...You gotta let the ponies out once in a while or the horse will die.
