today i swapped out my bassani catted x pipe for a summit o/r h pipe. the bassani served its purpose and worked great but it was well past its life time. the original owner of my car lived up north and the x pipe was rusted so bad it was leaking in some of the welds. back on the subject of the summit H pipe. the fitment was perfect. it sits real high up so it wont drag on the ground. also the flanges were made great so i have no leaks any where. i have ran several x pipes in the past and had issues with all of them. most of the time it is due to the mid pipes hanging down to low or the driver side flange being to large and leaking.
now for my problem, my cat back sounds like crap with the H pipe. it sounds like a truck running around and now im in the process of ordering new mufflers.

i dont want my car to be real loud but the ignition cut and 2 step was going to eventualy wreck my cats so they had to go.
I just swapped to an H pipe too but im curious- what mufflers did you have? Do you have stock manifolds? On the driver side, did you use stock studs or aftermarket? Use new gasket on passenger side? Any high temp rtv?
i have moroso spiral flows on my car right now and they sound good with an x pipe but sound to much like a truck. as for the driver side i replaced the studs back when i pulled my trans so they dont have the shoulder on them. also i used a step down flange so no rtv. as for the driver side i used a new gasket from auto zone.

+1 to what everyone says. I've got friends with magnaflows, slp, un muffled, and my car with an off road H and flowmaster 40's sounds like sex compared to any of theirs any day. So classic yet so rough yet so clean lol I'm so worried about changing anything because I don't wanna lose the sound I have
yeah magnaflows/magnapacks with an X sounds really good, the magnaflow I compared to was on a cobra with a catted stock H, so I mean you're really comparing too many factors...It's just a given that with his O/R H setup, 40's would sound like sex
