follow up on my gears


well i got my 4,30 gears installed along with 31 spline everything
and a canned tune

traction is pretty much useless lol

i raced the shift pressure in the trans and it shits really fast now

i raised my younger brother in his bone stock 3v from a dig and a roll
it was rape lol
also my other brother who has a 06 charger r/t pretty much the same

will be heading out to the track next sunday to see what i do n/a
hoping for 13.4

nice man how bad u beat the cars im basically same as u but i got 410s no nos. are u able to roast them if u punch it from a slow roll or no?

Very nice man, the 4.30s must make the car feel totally different. I was thinking about going to 4.30s with a 28" tire. But I think Ill run out of gear at the track.

yeah we did a roll from 45it was pretty bad
also on the highway i beat them till 115 when im topping out @6200 rpm
on the 245 45 18 but my new 275 45 18 will fix that they will give me about 5mph more

yeah shaun ive been trying to decide what size rim and tire i should get
im definatley gonna get a 28" tall tire but i dont want a drag radial because i drive the car daily you have any suggestions

you wouln't need or want a 28" tall tire with 4.30's & the stock converter, you'll be fine on 26's.

damn i almost shit my panties when i got 4.10s i cant imagine 4.30s
i feel ya with traction issues. b SUPER CAREFULL in the rain!! too much gas in 4th gear will make u spin, trust me i almost killed myself when i was first getting used to the gears. shittytomo tires dont help either...

and now your gas mileage will go to shit and your top speed went down 5-15mph in fifth. installing that big of gears is kinda foolish if its a DD, the only thing those gears are meant for is towing

If not, you just showed how much you know about these cars or how big of an idiot you are.

And I agree with everyone else Eddy, there's no reason with an auto and stock converter to go with a 28" tire yet. Don't kill your gearing until you need to.

HUH?? Wow. Bullitt already covered it but if you dont know what your talking about, dont even say anything.


Eddy, yeah dont go with a 28" tire yet. Wait. I was just refering to myself. You dont need a 28" tire at all. That would put your gearing more towards a 4.10 with 4.30s and 28" tire. So just run stock tire size. Now if you were spraying at the track and had a cage and all that, Id say go for it because you might run out of gear.

I get 18.5 mpg with 4.10s through a 5 speed. so 4.30s will be right around the same

I was averaging just over 20mpg with the 4.30's and a 5 speed in the Bullitt.

Wow really I'm not even getting 20 mpg and I only have 3.73s with a stick I get about 18 total with more street than highway I'd say 60/40 what could be wrong to give mensuch low mpg. Also when I did 3.73 I had a hard time hooking up sometimes took a little bit of getting used to and I have Nittos nt 555 285s in back on 18" cz black rims with 245s in front

generally thats all you get.

a typical 3.27 to 4.10 swap will generally get you 3 tenths, 4.30's around 4 tenths.

28's will take 2-3 back off a car with your mods so there you go.

Yep. I went from 13.31 to 12.97 when I swapped from 3.27's to 4.10's. Swapped to 28" tires and worked my way down to a 12.7, swapped to 4.30's and rebuilt the traclock and ran a 12.5 with no other changes.

I've been trying to tell Eddy not to go with 28" tires since he put the 4.30's in, maybe he'll listen to the masses.
