03/04 Cobra Bumper Install Help

Hey guys i picked up a 03/04 cobra bumper off american muscle (black duraflex) for my 99 gt and i dry fitted it the other day. It hit the hood on both sides of the grill. My question is if there is a way to get the clearance for the bumper to clear the hood without making the bumper buckle? Everything else fits fine; its just on each side of the grill on the front. I read awhile back that the cobras have a different piece where the bumper attaches or something. If anyone knows what part and a place to get the piece it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Cut the horns that are hitting the hood. Or buy a terminator hood.

use a buddy while one person pushes on the post by the grill towards the engine bay have the other person close the hood, align the post with the hood, have the other person pop the hood open and mark the post holes and drill holes.... very simple

It's gonna scratch your pretty paint unless you go with a Termi hood no matter how much trimming and moving you do.

I'm doing something wrong then. I've done three of them and they all touch. I've trimmed the head panels and redrilled holes to lay the uprights back. I've done two with stock hoods and one with a Cervini's hood, the Cervini's hood was the worse because of it's thickness; I even ground notches into the bottom of the hood for more clearance.

I ended up bolting on a Termi hood for the ultimate fix.

The header panel trim (grille surround), appropriate grille emblem, fog light bezels and fog lights.

^^ agreed. I have a TruFiber 3" cowl hood now and it doesnt touch at all.
I got my fog lights and bezels in a kit from LRS. It comes with everything needed for the fogs. and my local dealer had the header panel trim piece it was under $30 i believe.

Moving the holes back made the bumper clear the hood so thanks for the help. Also anyone have suggestions on a grill?
