So, next Sunday I'm buying a 02GT(31k miles) with the wiring harness, ecm, and hopefully the gauge cluster too. I want to drop it in my 97GTvert. My 97GT engine only has 98k and running perfect, thus I want to build up the 02GT engine before I plug it in.

These are the current mods to the 97GTvert:
MAC CAI w/ K&N air filter
83mm C&L MAF
75mm Accufab TB(going to get matching Accufab Plenum soon)
Bassani X-Pipe w/ cats
Standard 40's turned down before axle
97 Cobra rear axle w/ new 3.73 gears, rotors, brakes, etc...
PBR Cobra front calipers/rotors, etc...

Uninstalled:
Sub Frame Connectors
Xcal2 (going to buy wideband&gauge from jgorm soon)
Front&Rear double drilled & curved slotted rotors(waiting to find the best non-squeek pads)

Will my current transmission be compatible with the 02GT engine? Do I need other parts? What kind of transmission do I have now? t-45....? I was thinking of getting a Billet Flywheel before the swap...

Will I need to buy a new exhaust system for the 02 engine?

Will I need to use the 02's Gauge Cluster when I swap the engine? Do I need to legal document/notify the DMW of the engine swap?

What mods/parts can I use on the 02 engine that I currently have on my 97.

Am I forgetting anything? Advise please.....

oh, next year I'm thinking of twin turbo the 02 engine, or should I just take the heads off the 02 and put them on the 97 and then twin turbo?

damn, I should have skipped Med-school and became a mechanic....
