The pipes I have are 2 1/2 to 31/2 with Mac dual chamber muffs and 4" tips. They fit like a glove. I did wrap the 3 1/2" with header wrap because I had a blow out of a rear tire due to heat exposure.

How close were the pipes to the tire??

verrrrrry close about 2" away. Had to put spacers on the wheels.
