Flowmaster Exhaust

I'm looking into buying an exhaust and theres a few kits that are reasonably priced and that i've heard that Flowmaster makes quality stuff. Should I go with

Flowmaster - American Muscle @ $427.95

http://www.autoanything.com/exhausts...0A2568287.aspx

or

Flowmaster - Force II @ $467.95

I realize that there are Borla exhausts, but those are around $700 and I'm not sure if it'll make that big of a difference

Thanks for the advice.

just know that when you add an aftermarket x or h pipe things are going to be really loud inside you car. I sold the flowmasters and went to a magnaflow after I put my x and long tubes on so I could here the person next to me talk. If loud is what your after then flows sound great but as for performance all the exhaust kits are withing 1-3 horsepower difference on an NA car. If you want to sound real different try a dr gas x pipe with a bassani cat back like one of my boys did. he sounds like he has a storm of jap bikes following him. lol

Mac Performance also make a quality exhaust product or if you have a little more cash, try the KooKs system. I just installed Kook LT headers with HF catted h-pipe with MAC aftercat system with Mac mufflers and SS 4" tips it sound amazing, especially with the new KB 2.8 under the hood.

I have flowmasters on mine and love them, but +1 to what 1Badsnake said, MAC makes some great stuff too. They're not always in stock though.

4" tips??? Do they look odd at all??? How well did they fit??? Only reason I ask is because 4 inches for tips is pretty large, considering stock is like 2-2 1/2 inch.

There's a guy up here that has 4" tis on his '03 Terminator and they look great! They fit the cut out in the bumper perfectly. I wanted 4" rolled tips, but I can't find any with the same type of hanger that came on my magnapacks. If I do I will definitly get them. The wednesday night car cruise has started up here so next time I see him I'll try to get pics.

Flows sound good, but they weren't the sound I personally wanted. Like others already stated, they are very common. I couldn't see buying an aftermarket exhaust to still sound like everyone else. If you get the Flows get a O/R H pipe or a prochamber instead of a X pipe. It will make it sound that much better.

How loud are Flows bro??? Pretty loud?? All I know is that when I get my exhaust setup decided, I want something alot louder, meaner, and more agressive, than my 98' Camaro V6 RS was.

That's a matter of opinion more than anything. I've heard people like undomesticfire say that the Flows are too loud for them, but every Flow set up I've heard in person wasn't that loud at all to me. I've heard them with O/R X and H pipes and on with LT headers and a catted X pipe and although they sounded good, I ddn't consider any of them to be particulally loud.

Since you live not that far in Glens Falls, tomorrow the wednesday night car cruise in Albany will start at 5pm and the weather will be great. They are at the corner of Central Ave. and Valley Rd. in the big parking lot behind the McDonalds. You can't miss it. Dozens of Muscle cars and lots of Mustangs, then you can hear a variety of set ups in person, not through a sound clip. The show goes until dark, but the McDonald's lot stays full until about 2 am. I'll be there by 5:30 pm. You should come through and hear them in person. It makes all the difference

I would love to go, but I gotta be to work real early Thursday. Maybe i'll get a chance to see the carshows up here in Lake George, because I know they usually have a bunch up here, and I work in the perfect location where they alway's stop before & after shows. So i'm sure there will be some Mustang's.

I didn't say you had to stay until 2 am, I rarely do. Just come anytime after 5pm and stay until you feel like going home.

The Adirondack Nationals aren't for like 2 or more months. They're practically in the fall.
