2v vs 3v on the dyno


i picked up 15rwhp and 15 rwtq
on boltons through an auto transmission

H pipe
Flowmasters
Plenum and 75mm tb
C.A.I

on motor im at 241.92 and 281 tq

my brothers bone stock manual trans 3v made

264 284tq

not to bad

will post the dyno sheet when i charge my camera

Those are some decent gains for a lightly modded GT, I have been debating whether to get a TB or not, I think after seeing your post I just might do that.

the plenum is more restrictive than the TB.

Not bad. Factor out the loss from your slush box, and you guys are probably pretty close with bhp.

im thinking doing pulleys next as far as engine mods.

for now i just need to install my subframe connectors and lower control arms

overall im really happy with what i put down n/a who knows maybe ill be at 250 290tq with the pulleys

Did you get the car tuned or just run it on the dyno? If you have it tuned you'll pick up a healthy amount too.

seems high but impressive nonetheless, my 00 gt auto with cai, tb, plenum, xpipe, slp exhaust and a dyno tune with the diablsport unit made 225 whp & 264 wtq

it doesnt seem too high through my auto with a 93 tune, mac catted x, bbk cai, 10series flows the car put down 233rwhp and 266rwtq

all of what you said is true, but the area under the curve favors the 3v, it comes in sooner and holds out longer, hence why they tend to be .5 or more faster stock for stock and even when you start modding. Bolt ons will throw you into the 12's with hardly breakin a sweat in a 3v

Didnt know that I guess that is just the peak hp ive never seen the the chart from the 3v on the dyno though. I know the ones Ive raced on the test and tune nights before I put the blower on I could get them off the line no problem but about halfway down the track or more they would come flying by and would have quite a bit higher trap than the 2v.

idk i beat him on the highway even with my 4.30 gears till i topped out at 115 but he let of around 110 and from a dig he just gets destroyed mostly due to my 4.30 gears

dont they run stock like 13.8?

The weight is what slows them down a touch out of the hole, or it could just be the driver, but yeah its closer to 6k where they start to teeter out
