Help: whats this part called?

Ok, I went to put on a new steering rack and noticed this mangled piece of metal. The car had been in a front end collision, and, long story short, I can't figure out what the name of this "subframe" piece is, so I can hunt down a new one. This is my everyday driver so I need help as soon as possible. I appreciate it gang, thanks in advance!

Edit: I should add that this is on my 03 GT

Are there any advantages of a tubular K-member as opposed to the stock one?

The tubular k's weigh quite a bit less and will provide extra clearance if u do headers later. I think they move the front wheels slightly forward too.

I'd keep that thing off the highway for sure.

How's it drive? Looks like its leaking oil/tranny fluid or something.

Damn, that thing looks like a bucket of smashed assholes. I'd take it back to the dealer and have them put a new K on it or buy a tubular one. The tubular would yield better performance, but I hate dealerships so I might go just to argue and belittle them.

It's not leaking thats just leftover from the oil change that went horribly wrong... don't ask but it involves a chocolate lab pup and a stupid squirrel...

Anyhow, I get heavy shaking under highway conditions, more attributed to the alignment that cant be done until I get that K member replaced...

I'm kinda surprised it will even drive in a straight line. I'd haul it back to where you got it and demand a new k be put on. Tell them u could have died driving the car in its condition.

Seriously, there has to be some legal prescident against a dealership selling a car in that condition as "ready to drive". That's a SERIOUS safety issue.
