dumps and quiet dont really go together. Why not just do a regular cat back?

I've had dumps on other vehicles,,,love it. Less hangers to break, and sets off car alarms easily. They can be quiet,,,depends on the muffler used.

One thing that really helps the noise is how you point the dumps. If you angle them apart a little bit rather than straight down, the sound doesn't reflect straight back up into the car.

I'm running dumps, and they're really not any louder, it's just that the sound source is a few feet closer.

midnight its 02 black and judging by your sig you work at the sears auto center by the east mall . yea the angling out of the turn downs i have heard helps but what muffler do you think would keep the noise down and yea i know it won't be quite but i don't want it obnoxiously loud.

Magnaflows will work, as will the larger flowmasters (i.e. not 40-series).

I don't even drive mine to work at 5am because I don't want to wake up the neighbors... I have to come home at lunch and switch cars...

...and I don't even have dumps, so I feel ya, man.

The mac produmps are actually really nice and livable, amazingly easy to get used to but yes they set off car alarms pretty easy too lol. Just traded mine out for some dynomax bullets dumped recently because they were too quiet

I've been debating on when I put my new engine in whether I should do dumps or stick with the side exhaust. If I do dumps then I will just have dummy tips since I have the roush body kit. But my dumps or side exhaust setup will be o/r h with lm2s. Lol. Either way it will be loud

I heard that with dumps you will loose low end tq as well as an off road x pipe is this true also that the 99-04 gt is very sensitive and looses low end tq very easy? If so go with a non chambered cat back like a cat back with a resonator they are really nice and loud without being overbearing and annoying. I have magnaflows and they skid beast at 4k they turn heads. I have the matching off road x pipe waiting to go in but now I heard I will loose low end tq so I'm hesitant about it. Anyone know from experience.

Nope.

Because all you're removing with dumps is the pipe after the muffler. Unless there's a serious restriction in that section, cutting it off does nothing for power either way.

you may notice a hair of low end loss with the x pipe instead of the h pipe but it is easily made up for with the top end gain of the x pipe. i noticed a very nice top end gain when i installed my o/r x

Sweet can't wait to install it I have to renew my tags first I'm not sure if they are going to do a sniffner text or just plug I. The obd II port and check for codes I'd hate to have to take it off and replace the stock just to pass then put it on again. Even tho I love doing my own exhaust work!!!
