Gas saving mods

Yea, I am gonna be lookin for more power, but right now I'm gonna do the mods that can help me save gas. I just want ya'll to chime in if I forgot anything

CAI - JLT True CAI
Exhaust - catted x-pipe, (undecided on catback), and possibly new headers
u/d pulleys - Steeda
Tune - SCT Livewire

What else can I do to help save gas, and give me more power?

come on man... you know "saving gas" and "adding HP" doesn't add up.

LOL

besides your basic air/exhaust mods that's really about all you can do to save gas.
ummm sugestions for saving gas... hmm

do all your flushes and oil changes on schedual.
make sure your air filter stays clean.
run a bottle of engine cleaner once in a while..

you could just keep your foot out of it.

nah... you won't do that do will ya?

One word!

TURBONATOR!!!

Not only can you add like 30 RWHP, but you can double your gas mileage.

Lol. Also I think my stang is idling a little high. Yea, I'm new the modulars, but in park it idles around 1000 down to about 875. Just fluctuates in between them. I put it in drive and drops to about 650-750, but to me that is high in park for idle.

I'm also just starting off with these. My gas mileage is actually better now that I got a v8. God wanted me to have a v8. It's obvious. I go from a 3.8L v6 to a 4.6L v8, and I get better gas mileage. I don't want to just go right in, and do all the big heavy mods, I'm just doin this for the time being before I figure out what my setup will be.

Any auto parts store. Yea, it works it completely cleans out your engine, but a lot of people say it's good to have an oil change about 500 miles after using it since you will have more debris and stuff in your oil. I havn't done it yet so I don't have any experience on it, but I can tell you everything I read about it.

Hell yes it works, it's the best $7 investment I've ever made. I put it through my car maybe every 15k miles now.

Just suck up half a can through a vac line (sucking it into the PCV port on your plenum works good, use a vac hose to do this, or even a straw.. but if you use a straw dont let it go!), kill the car, pour the other half of the can in the gas tank, let it sit for 30-45 min, then crank it up and rev the shit out of it for about 10 min or until it stops smoking. After this, go drive it like hell until no more smoke is coming out at all.

On a car with that many miles, you'll notice improved throttle response, more power, and better gas mileage. Definitely.

I tryed to use it yesterday! lol I got it in my tank and in my oil. But my parents didnt want me to do the vaccum system in our neighborhood so I had somebody follow me to where nobody would care. Well I started to run it through and it takes for ever for it to suck it up. But then I relized that it is coming out from under my intake. Turns out that because my intake gasket was just a little leaky it wouldnt go through. I guess I just have to wait until I get my PI intake on there which should be here really soon!

on the cat back, I have the magnaflow and ChrisJ has flowmasters. I am sure we can meet up sometime if you want to hear them in person.

I got best gas mileage when I had my catback, xpipe, CAI, TB and plenum. But then I added other things and that went to hell.

I would love to see and hear ya'lls cars in person.

What kind of x-pipe do you have? I was thinking of the catted SLP x-pipe. I was also thinking of some SLP Loudmouths, but the more I listen to them the less of exhaust note I think they have...I'm starting to not like them.

If you put on headers and an x-pipe, you can say bye-bye to gas mileage.

If you get the SLP X-pipe, I would get this one, because you can change from cats to no cats, and I don't think any other company's offer that:

My Bassani X pipe does and it comes with both the O/R straight pipes and the cats. I think on the SLP X pipe it comes with one or the other and you have to buy the other seperate.
http://rpmoutlet.com/musv8basxheader.htm#2

If you get the SLP LM exhaust make sure you get the LM 2, not the LM 1. Big difference in sound.
