fuel pressure question?

I have a procharged 02 gt and i have done the 2003 cobra pumps and tank swap. i have noticed that the fuel pressure drops to about 10psi around 5200rpms and it really seems slugish. Is that enough fuel pressure? i dont know if it has any thing to do with it but Also my check engine light is on DTCs codes are P0102 and P0113.

Did you upgrade the wiring and such when you did the cobra tanks?

Did you upgrade the fpdm (fuel pump driver module)?

That is not near enough pressure! When you swaped the tanks did you do anyother modifications? Because to do this correctly you have to do some wiring modifications!

Im Chris...

Try what I said in that thread and see if it fixes it...The tanks are not just plug and play...There are some wiring issues that have to be addressed...

The thin wire with all the amperage draw on em with actually cause resistance, and cause more draw, thus making the ECM think its at the limit of the pumps, when all it really is at, is the limit of the wire. Running (2) 10 gauge wires from the FPDM down to the tank will gain you about 10 percent duty cycle. Also running a dedicated 12V source from the battery powered via a relay will gain you another 10 percent.

Rewire the FPDM, and run a dedicated 12V source to the back of the car and have that feed the FPDM with a clean source of power, since its a 8 gauge power wire. What this does is lower resistance, amp draw, and makes sure the pumps are telling the ECM the exact duty cycle they are running at.

Most of the cars out there with no upgrades hitting 100 percent pump duty cycle are doing it falsely. Theres room left in the pumps but the resistance tells the ECM different, thus it can command them to run any harder.

Thanks that helps out alot chris and it makes sence. I have talked to a few other people and mechenics. you sound like you know a hell of a lot more than they do. however they did say that i could add a boost-a-pump By KB and that sould solve my problem. In your opinion would that work your are they just blowing smoke up my ass?
thanks agine chris you really made it make sence of what i should do and why.
