removing valve springs
I have a 2000 4.6 mustang, and I am having trouble removing the valve springs. I bought the $15 valve spring remover from sears to do the job. I am able to get the spring compressed, but nothing happens or comes loose, and I do not know what to do. I have never done this before and I do not know how it comes apart. Am I doing something wrong or do I need a better valve spring compressor? thanks for the help

You are going to have to get a real spring compressor. Just go to Autozone and ask for one. You will have to pay for it, but if you bring it back within 60 days, they will refund you 100%. They call it a loaner program. Even with the real deal, it is still a pain in the ass, because the springs are set so close to the camshaft pedestals.
You can borrow mine............................
