The reason that I sent my first blower back for a rebuild was because the oil seals were leaking and now I'm going to have to do the same thing with this new one. It only has a one year warranty and I found the invoice and it says Oct 6th so hopefully they don't try to tell me the one year is expired.

They shouldn't if you call them tomorrow. It's not been one year yet. I sent my head unit back to ProCharger after 2 years and 10 months and they replace the main seal for free under their three year warranty. It had around 65,000 miles on it. Be sure to call them so they have a record of it before the warranty expires.

As for the warranty. I would say its still good as long as they receive it before the 6th. If i was you, I would overnight or 2nd day shipping that head unit tomorrow the 3rd, that way it gets there on the 4th/5th. Don't take anyone's word for it if they tell you over the phone its fine. The next time you talk to someone it maybe someone else who says different. If someone says its ok, then ask them to send you an e-mail providing proof that they are agreeing to it. If not ship it to them, if they get it before the 6th they are legally obligated to fix it if its a warranty issue.

If you changed the pulley on the unit i wouldn't bother sending it in. They will just charge you to ship it back, unless you pay to repair it. The warranty only covers the original pulley, from what frank told me at vortech when i asked about the warranty after a rebuild he told me that they secretly mark the unit and the pulley so they would know if it was changed.

I asked because i was going to do a rebuild, but didn't want the warranty to be voided since i was using a 2.87, and he told me with that pulley there is no warranty.

That is the same with ProCharger. To have the warranty you cannot change the pulley.

I specifically asked them if I could change the pulley and they said that it would be fine and still covered under warranty. I would put the stock pulley back on to ship it anyways. I got an RMA number today and the guy told me it was still under warranty. He did not mention anything about having to overnight it.

I hope you got that in writing. Companies are not out to give free repairs. I would have shipped it 2nd day at least to make sure it gets there by the 6th. If a company wanted to they would tell you sorry, your package arrived after your warranty expired on the 6th. Hopefully that's not the case with your issue. I also hope you got it in writing that its ok to switch the pulley, because from previous experience talking to frank at vortech your warranty if void the moment the pulley is pulled off. They also mark the supercharger to see if its been removed. If that mark has moved they will know.

As long as you have everything in writing they are legally obligated to fix it. Good luck.

For reference to what i'm talking about i found this for you. Frank is the main guy at vortech.

No I didn't get it in writing. If they lied about it I just won't buy anything from them ever again and make sure to post that there are liars working for them. I went from a 3.6 to a 3.33 pulley.. it shouldn't start leaking just because of that. I have read countless posts about vortech units leaking because of the crappy seals they use in them and I believe all of them now. Also there is no mark on the pulley or headunit.

Any updates. Did they get back to you and tell you that they are fixing it?

If you changed the pulley and removed the factory nut cover the warranty is only 1 year not 3 years. I doubt they will warranty it. It says specifically in your warranty information...

I'm not sure it's leaking now.. maybe the residue was left over from the catch can setup?

Yes it's only been a year.. not 3 years. They didn't give me any warranty info so it doesn't specifically say anything.

Really, so they said its not leaking?? its possible that you had alot of oil left inside of your intercooler and it just happened to run out when you put the new unit on. I know when mine was leaking and i installed the correct pcv valve I thought it was still leaking so i took all the pipes off and cleaned them to make sure. I found a lot of oil in my intercooler, took some gasoline to clean it. After that I never seen oil again, so its possibly just left over oil that you had built up.

Hopefully not though, if the supercharger is fine, they will charge you a diagnostic fee and make you pay for return shipping. That would suck .

I haven't sent it yet because I'm not sure that it's leaking or if it is it doesn't seem like that much. If there was oil in the intercooler how would it make it all the way back up the pipes and into the blower?
