2002 mustang gt Cruise control doesnt work need help!!!

Like the title says 2002 mustang gt 5 speed cruise control doesnt work . This car has been wrecked by pre-owner . I have checked the wires to cruise control. to make sure it was hooked up. I also checked the cable linkage and still doesnt work . im going to check the fuse . All i need from ya'll is to what else to check. since ive had the car is 2009 the cruise has not worked and i have been putting it off.

im gonna check the switches in the steering wheel to cause they might of came disconnected when put back together from replacing the airbag .

checked fuses, checked cruise control buttons, harness and all are ok.

does the horn work? You might have a broken clockspring

There is wiring in the steering column that probably got either disconnected or damaged. I had an airbag light on and that was the cause, cruise control also didn't work. The cruise control is the same tab. Would make sense if you had it apart. Could be the problem. I honestly forgot the name for it. Sorry!

mine doesnt work either :/

but what i notice is right now im missing the cover for the ON/OFF switch, i guess thats the one on the left side, and when i hit both of the bottons at the same time, my horn honks haha

horn works so its not the clock spring. and the wires behind the air are good . im gonna work on it today. but the airbag light isnt on ither

There's also a switch on the clutch pedal that causes the cruise to shut off when the pedal is pushed. Might check that.

well i checked it cause a guy on a older thread said you can pull up on it should work and it also that switch works as the safety feature where it willnt crank without the clutch petal depressed and i know it works for that and i also pushed it down with my finger and i can hear the contacts engauging . the brake switch works cause i still have brake lights .

ive got the same problem; bought my car a year ago and also been puttingit off. I plan on pulling the driver side front inner fender liner where the actuator is. According to the service book you can check resistance I believe to see if that unit is bad. Have you done that?

Never done that before worked at ford 4 years and i'd just replace it . im thinking about getting the whole setup off ebay and putting it all on but i dont want to if i dont have to . But if you do yours ill find out if mine is bad . or you could tell me how-to . im ets ing out the army in a month so im real busy and barely ever have time to mess with the stang . but anyway .

just another question why does my inner brake lights not work and i see alot of cars just like mine . i have new bulbs in it just wondering .

From the factory, the inner bulbs don't light up with the brakes or turn signals. Here's a site that tells how to enable them:
Mustang Six Brake Light Conversion

Or you can do a sequential signal kit.
