CARB EO for JLT CAI?

I bought the JLT CAI (based on recommendations from people here, a couple years ago) and when I took my car (2001 GT) in to get smogged today, they said that I need a CARB executive order number for the aftermarket CAI.

Does this intake (here: JLT Performance Cold Air Intakes for the 1996-2004 Mustang GT at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!) fit california's restrictions?

If not, what can I do? Do I need to reinstall my stock one (if I even have it) in order to pass?

Any help is much appreciated.

The only CAI kit I've seen that has the CARB certification is the K&N FIPK. Afraid you're going to have to put the stock one back on in order to pass.

That kit is not CARB certified.

I would recommend putting your stock one in, getting retested and then just reinstall the JLT after you've received your smog certification. Smog tests are good for 2 years, if I'm not mistaken and should allow you plenty of time between your next test to reinstall and have fun with it.

The only manufacturers that care about cali enough to get CARB certified are K&N, Airaid and BBK.

Good luck!

Let me know if you have any questions in the future!
