Rough idiling and exhaust smoke

I have a problem 3 cylinders my car is idiling rough and when i start it it blows smoke that disapears fast

I checked my spark plugs and connections but all seems good exept when i disconnect each spark plug one by one 3 of them nothing happens im not sure if i blew a fuse or the connection to the coil is not working wich may not be burning the fuel and causing white smoke

The ingintion coil works i switched them around and all works fine just 3 connections from the harnes dont seem to be working and my check engine light is flashing

Any help is apreciated

swap the plugs, see if it follows, then swap injectors. If nothing changes when swapping those around, run a compression check

white smoke is usually coolant, is it white or just vapor that comes out in the morning?

oil look like a milk shake? open the coolant res. and see if it bubbles while the car is idling

if it was a fuse youd have all or none working.

Flashing "Check Engine" light usualy mean damage to the Cats is or is about to occur. And if your not getting spark and all that fuels not being burnt and is sent down to your Cats..that could get nasty. If you have a lot of white smoke that could be a blown head gasket which would also damage your Cats if there is a lot of coolant leaking past getting sent to your cats. But check all of your connections under the hood! One time I left the Mass Air Flow Sensor unpluged when I took my air filter off to Reoil it and my car smoked and had a rough idle. But when you say its smoking..does that mean all the time or does it somewhat stop when you drive it a while.

Yes the smoke seems to go away after heating up but when i start the car it blows a small
Cloud of white smoke i deafenetly dont think its a head gasket i just had them replaced 2 months ago and no signs of oil in coolant and coolant in oil

Could a bad fuel injector cause this i did a check on the spark plugs by unpluging each one when the car is on to see if engine starts shaking on the left side two of them did nothin when i unpluged them

And on the right side one did nothing so i switched the ignition coil and spark plug to see if problem followed but nothing the problem was still in the same place

So the next thing is the F/I can they cause the engine to idle roughly if not working properly

ive blown my head gasket and didnt have milky oil , it wasn't making past the piston ring, also how many miles are on your car, what do the springs on your coil packs look like? white and corroded like dirty battery terminals. white smoke is usually coolant/water bluish grey tends to be oil based chemical burning off black is to much fuel. correct me if im wrong that just been my past experiences. but though you dont want it being a head gasket might look into it before taking any more damage. hate to get cylinder wash.

Seems it might be my injectors just switched them around and. The ideling got a litle better and i see less smoke

One of the injectors was cracked from the tip and on the left side seems the fuel rails were loose

My car did this when i let it sit overnight periodically, turned out to be a bad valve seal. I doubt that's the issue but its worth a thought

My bad "number1gt" and "86er", When i was in Auto Technology School my instructor said that when the chech engine light was flashing it was damage to the Cats is or is about to happen and to stop the car immediatly...Maybe I missunderstood..But thank you two for correcting me..I love to learn..I'm glad you found out it was the injectors GtUnit. thats much easyer and cheaper fix then Head gasket or Valve seal..lol
