Car Turned Off while driving

So I have a problem and its only done this twice and only today. So twice in one night its just died on me while driving. I was going about 60mph then my car just shuts down. No power steering or braking. Did this twice.

I have a 02 GT with 17000 miles on it. Anyone know why it did that and if its happend to you before?

happened to me all the time with the old 2V GT motor with 24,000 miles. sounds like you have the same issue it seemed to do it more often when I was just beating up on it. it would always die right after a race or if I was beating up on it in the street, just suddenly die on the interstate.

at first i thought it was an overheating issue but honestly I have no clue, i'm glad that engine is done with though =)

i upgraded my coilpacks to the GMS granatelli coil packs, and it seemed to happen less often. I have no idea if that is directly related with the issue. let me know if you find out why it happend. that's certainly one of the little things that alwasy had me on edge about that motor

i work with a guy who has an old 300zx that had the same problem.. it was the distributor for him

or the idle contol motor thats what went bad @ 24k and caused mine stop running
