its amazing

it's amazing what a difference it makes to have good plugs in the car! just got done changing the spark plugs in the ol whip and sea foamed the engine while i have the air intake off and noticed a huge difference!! hopefully this will solve my running rich issue..Have done my fuel filter, sea foamed engine, tune, cleaned MAF, oil and now plugs!! and the plugs were over due for sure. Caused the car to actually lose a significant amount of power from running rich. and seems to be running a lot stronger!

Good to hear. I noticed a big difference with new plugs gapped properly. I thought about the seafoam but was a little iffy about doing it. Any downside to it?

besides he first time you go to fire it up, no. it has a rough first start up then can pour out white smoke till it burns off for the most part..went about mile down the road with white smoke pouring out which looked kinda awesome haha but cleaned up after that and run amazing!!! very satisfied with going back to factory plugs and the seafoam

I would never seafoam it until I knew exactly what it is made of. A lot of these chemicals and additives are not compatible with certain materials in some cars like how RP trans fluid reacts with our carbon syncros. Anyone have reliable info on seafoam?

I used seafoam several times (in different cars) throughout the years. It works good, really helped my old truck with 175k+ miles on it run better.
I used it in the stang at about 68k miles and it idled better.
I would not ever put it in the oil, thats just asking for problems IMO. I've only ran it in gas and into a vacuum line.

According to their MSDS sheet ( MSDS Downloads )

Pale Oil 40-60% (lubrication properties, oil solvent)
Naptha -25-35% (alcohol solvent, basically)
IPA - 10-20% (isopropyl alcohol - water remover)

I've used it many times in many vehicles as a top end cleaner. I will not use it in the fuel system or in the oil system. If you want a clean fuel system, use the only fuel cleaner that I've ever seen specifically mentioned in multiple OEM TSB - Chevron Techron. If you want a clean oil system, use a high quality oil with a very high quality oil filter, and change your oil routinely (and try to make sure you have a functional PCV system, and no fluid leaks).

yeah i haven't put seafoam in the oil just in the gas and spraying it inside the throttle body and it has made the car run a lot better! for plugs i just used some champions from discount auto..easy job done cept the back two plugs on the passengers side had to use two extensions combined a six inch and nine inch to bypass all the wires and "stuff" in the way.

I have never heard of anyone putting it in the oil, but looking at the MSDS I don't think it would be a good idea. The Naptha and Isopropyl would thin it out and I would be afraid of damaging a bearing. Putting it in the intake, however, would most definitely do some good. The Naptha and Isopropyl will break up any carbon deposits in the cylinders, and the Pale oil is a good top end lubricant. If you ever wanted to put anything in your fuel, I'd just recommend a bit of Marvel Mystery Oil.

Hell yeah! I would run Marvel Mystery Oil in the fuel of my airplane engines to keep the top end lubricated. I would add about a half gallon per fill, which is 100 gallons. Never had a single one fail

I've ran Seafoam in the cranckcase oil several times, never had any issues. I had an issue with a sticking HLA in my Mustang that developed a couple years ago. Every time I started it, it would tick for a couple seconds then go away. After numerous regular oil changes, I reluctantly added a few ounces of Seafoam to the oil (even less than the directions on the bottle recommended) and drove it for about 40 miles on the highway (conservatively). When I got home I changed the oil right away and the problem with the sticking HLA was gone for good. I had the same issue with a sticky lifter in my F250 with a 5.8L. Added a couple ounces of Seafoam to the oil, drove it for about 30 miles, changed the oil and problem was gone. Your oil gets water thin at operating temp and I doubt a few ounces of Seafoam in 6 quarts of oil effects it much. Seafoam claims you can run it in the oil continuously, but I don't see the need for that as long as you use a quality oil. The key is to use a few ounces and don't drive it any longer than needed to allow the detergents to do their job. After the results I experienced, I would not be scared to do the same again...but only as a last resort.

Autolite, Motorcraft or NGK V-power are all good, but stick with a copper core. If your car is stock you could get by with the factory style Platinums if you're after long maintenance life. Copper core plugs are cheap, perform as well or better and have less tendancy to create spark knock.....you just have to change them more often. The NGK are typically the plug of choice, but I just use the plain Autolite Copper cores since I can buy them at Wal-Mart when I buy Motorcraft oil & filters.

make sure you got some extensions!!! the back plug on the pass. side i had to use 14 inches in extensions to get the plug out/in without doing much more than taking off the air intake.

Yea when I changed my spark plugs, and cleaned the throttle body it made such a difference like night and day my plugs were way over due. Like 4 of them had like gunk and shit the guy 1 owner never changed them since 01 lol. and I used seafoam it works really good and I got a scrubber to clean everything tough on it. My car was hesititaing through the rpm and changing the plugs cleaned it sooo good. I used Ngk iridiums Ix's it cost like $60 for all 8

I have changed all my plugs to the Motorcraft Platinums and noticed a difference, but still have a slight pop at idle every so often. So I am thinking about the seafoam for the motor to see if that cures a couple of issues. I also agree Marvil Mystry Oil is awesome stuff.
