Very clean looking car for a 2001. Mine is the same year, but I have road rash all up the front. How much did you get it for? Is it modded at all or is it bone stock?

the irs is better for carving the roads but not for the 1/4 mile

Bottom line is that IRS can't handle the amount of power that a solid axle can handle. Plus IRS has bad wheel hop from what I understand.

yea i have the exact same car as that one and the irs does cause a lot of wheel hop. I guess that if you are planning on takin it to the track a lot, then you should lose the irs, if not, dont worry about it..

you're right. Cobraetti if your car does what my car does in this video dont try to throttle through it. try to let off the throttle really quick and then get back on it. that should stop the hopping

you can do more with a solid than you can do with an irs. solid axles are just as good if not better for road racing as well. when i did the swap in my car i wanted the best of both worlds. if you come and ride with me with the solid in the car i can go faster around corners and with less body roll than a car with an irs, and my irs wasnt stock by any means. 430 gears made it even worse i couldnt get traction if my life depended on it, i would spin and wheel hop into 4th gear. now when i am going in a straight line all i have to do is heat the tires and dump the clutch at 6k and it hooks, and hard enough to toast a clutch in 3 passes.

with my 01 if you let off and get back into it you are in the same place, it just keeps hopping some more. remember the 03+ irs is different. it has that extra brace under the diff.
