I think I'm finally giving in....
Ok, so I've been really thinking about this lately...And i think I want to trade my car in for a 99-04 Mustang GT. Before I do this though, what are something I should know before doing so. And what are you guy's favorite things about your 4.6. Wether it be cosmetic or power.

4.6 = pussy magnet.
Buy a bat to keep them at bay. Edit: just kidding Not much has changed from your car to a new edge besides the "better" looks and updated engine. Chassis and suspension and interior are about the same. You don't seem like someone who is looking at building a drag car or high horsepower motor anytime soon either so its mainly cosmetics (no offense, I'm not building either) |

I don't have enough money for that. Plus, I've always had a soft spot for the 4.6.

dont do it...the 4.6s are a dime a dozen. A nice, well kept built sn95 is wayyy sexier and more rare.

true but unless its modded the 94-98 v8's get beat bad by the 99-04 v8's stock period. you want 205-225hp with 2.73's? or 260hp with 3.27's? the newedge is and has alays been my personal fav.

I love the sn-95 dont get me wrong but for your average person on budget and real world people that dont go hard like we do on this site, usually dont go past bolt-ons. And the 94-98's wont go far with bolt-ons without a pi swap, and again your average person dont have the money or skills to do that either.

Yeah, I just see a 4.6 benefitting me better down the long run.

I would love to have an SN95 with a 5.0L. Personally, I would keep what you have and use the extra money you would have to kick in to just budget-build the 5.0L.......it's easy to work on, and performance parts are plentiful and cheap compared to a Modular. We can stroke "up to" 302, but you can buy a budget stroker kit and get 347 no problem. Switch to a 351 base and you can go 408. Doesn't get much more potential than that. Even a mild 347 with GT40 heads and good cam would be sweet and easy to build on a budget.
As far as the New Edge goes, I like the body styling better and the body/chassis seems pretty solid compared to the older Foxes. I also like the sound of the 4.6L and the way it revs. What I don't like is the fact that it's only 281, has piss-poor head flow and camshaft selection is limited and expensive. Forced induction is the only option if you want to make big power. Just a couple things to think about.

I don't know. I'm planning on saving up a lot during this winter, and coming to the conclusion in janurary of what I'm going to do. Right now, I'm really leaning towards the New edge.

The pushrod 302 will make more power much easier and much cheaper. I wish I had one in my car.

I know it can make power, with a little time and money. But, I just feel like it's not for me. I'm going to go test drive some new edges and see how i feel about em.

One big plus a New Edge has over the Sn95 is the fact it is just a newer car. Im not talking about anything else other than the fact that the parts aren't as old and a low mileage New Edge should be easier to come across than a SN95. What kind of budget are you looking to spend? If you can afford the Mach 1 go for it.
