Banging out noise at high RPMs

Hey guys a new day a new problem haha

Ok heres what I got going on now, when I accelerate hard and my car hits higher RPMs like 4500-5000k at least I here this loud cutting out or banging out noise, no noticeable loss in power...

I have BBK long tubes, high flow cats, and x-piped flowmasters

Any ideas? Thanks in advanced

Determine if the sound changes with RPM or MPH and get back to us.

Well if its RPM related it could be alot of things. Do you have underdrive pulleys on it or anything? I've seen balancers knock before... I hope its not a rod knock or something but if it was you would hear more than you do. Can you recreate it by reving the motor with the hood up and parked? How loud is the banging? Like a knocking type bang or somebody is hitting the side of the car with a sledge hammer lol?

R u sure its not bruttal spark knock? Is the car tuned? what mods? Give us some more background on your mods, vehicle, miles, how long you have had it, etc. If not its kinda shooting in the dark.

I have the p1-sc kit w/ 3.2" pulley, 3core intercooler, 42lb injectors, fuel pump unknown, tune unknown, long tube headers high flow cats x-pipe flomasters... Car has 81,735 miles iv had it for 3 weeks...

The sound isn't a motor knock it sounds more like exhaust to me? Kinda a popping crackling noise...

Are you sure its just not your exhaust backfiring?

could be the exhaust gasket between the long tubes and cats? silverado was doing this and i replaced the gasket and it went away. thought the truck was gonna blow for months.

I'm hearing the same noise right now. If I lay into it, above 4k it's like a crackling noise that goes with rpms. It's only if I'm laying into it tho. Havnt figured it out yet.

Does it only make this noise when you downshift, or is it make the noise in 4th and 5th gear.

Do you have an AFR gage in your car, if so what is it reading when it makes the noise.

extremely wild guess :

Check/Replace spark plugs

my mustang pops when I rev it at home... mostly when RPM is dropping around 2.5~3k

IMO since it's a blown motor, i'd take it to a tuner and get yourself a dyno tune. you know nothing about the car, not even who tuned it or how safe the tune is. just my opinion.

probably exhaust related if you ask me.
